June Yvonne Huff Eitel, of Alexandria, Virginia, died on June 19, 1987, mother of James W. Eitel of  Alexandria, Virginia; sister of Nancy Huff Rodenheaver of Arlington, Virginia.  Memorial services will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia.   Interment private.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The following was given to our committee by June's husband, James Eitel of  Gilmer, Texas.

June Huff-Eitel went to Marion Institute for one year after high school.  She returned home to Arlington, Virginia and worked for the Defense Department for a few years. (DCPG)  After that June worked at the Treasury Department for two years before we were married in 1971. June did not work after that.

We had tours at Fort Bliss, Texas, Mildenhall, England and Stuttgart, Germany before June was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1981. We returned to the DC area for her treatment and she survived for six years.  She died in 1987 at Walter Reed Hospital and is buried in Maryland with her parents.

I stayed in the DC area after retiring in 1986 until our son (James, Jr.) was out of college.  I moved back to my home in Texas in 1995.

Our son lives in Riverview, Florida and works for a defense contractor.

June's sister, Nancy, lives in Arlington, Virginia.
