Charles E. Smith, of Arlington County, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at his home.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was devoted to his family and friends.  He had many hobbies, including calligraphy and photography.

Survivors include: his brother-in-law, James Barr; two nieces, Cindy Shackelford (and her husband, John) and Sandy Payne (and her husband, Pete); a nephew, Bryan Barr (and his wife, Sara); all of Stafford County, Virginia; and numerous other family members.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 18 at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia, with the Rev. Franklin Carrington officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.   Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
