Virginia Talbott Harbour, 76, a home economics teacher in the Arlington County
public schools in the mid-1960s who was active in church and cultural groups, died July 25
at Fairfax Hospital after a stroke. She lived in Annandale.
Mrs. Harbour had taught at Wakefield and Yorktown high schools. She helped organize
family life and child development education programs for the Arlington schools.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Alexandria, the National Cathedral
Association, the Alexandria Choral Society, the Metropolitan Opera Guild and the Little
Theatre Association of Alexandria. She had played the piano.
Mrs. Harbour was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. She graduated from Park College in
Missouri, where she majored in English and home economics. She taught in Iowa and
Nebraska before coming to the Washington area in 1956.
Survivors include her husband, Stuart Lee Harbour, whom she married in 1954 and who lives
in Annandale; and a sister, Charlotte Talbott Lutz of Springfield.
