Donna Whittaker Krout, 84, Venice, died October 22, 2002.

She was born May 10, 1918, in Vermillion, South Dakota, and came to Venice 27 years ago from Lanham, Maryland.  She graduated from the University of Michigan with a master's degree in music.  She was a high school music teacher in South Dakota and Arlington, Virginia.  She was founding director of the Wakefield Singers in Arlington.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, where she was a member of the Gracetones handbell choir and former president of the United Methodist Women's group.

Survivors include a sister, Ella J. Wolf of Cape Haze; eight nieces; and two nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel.  A service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church.
