Reunion weekend is fast approaching and we're excited so many classmates will be attending! As of this past weekend, more than 60 people had signed up for the official 50th reunion dinner and other activities. Here's who's coming to dinner!

More classmates are sending in registrations every week. If you haven't yet there's still time, but please do it soon! We need a head count for the reunion dinner by August 22, 2019. SPECIAL BONUS!!! The 69th person to register for the official 50th reunion dinner will receive a 50th reunion memento!

Speaking of dinner, lots of classmates will be coming to our Saturday night 50th Reunion Happy Hour September 28, from 4 to 6 pm, at Freddie's Beach Bar in Arlington. If you are thinking of making dinner plans afterward consider making a reservation now. Freddie has two restaurants that are great options to mingle with classmates; here's some info:

Other events that evening at Freddie's Beach Bar:

Although these are not reunion events all are welcome to attend, but advance reservations are recommended to secure a table for dinner

Our 50th reunion celebration is set for September 28 to 29, 2019, in Arlington VA - that's just two months away! Below are the dates and other information you need to know. Please register RIGHT AWAY - you don't want to miss this big weekend!!!

Thursday, August 22, 2019: A headcount is needed for official reunion dinner on Sunday, September 29, at Army Navy Country Club; please register by this date! (The form is available here).

Thursday, August 29, 2019: The final date to make hotel reservations at Ritz Carton Pentagon City group rate ($159/night).

Saturday, September 14, 2019: Send us your submissions for the reunion e-book, to be included in the class compilation.

Anytime this summer: Check your closets and attic for Wakefield HS memorabilia to bring to the reunion - display tables will be available!

Join us for the Class of 1969 50th Reunion Weekend on September 28-29, 2019, in Arlington Virginia as we celebrate 50 years post graduation! We'll reconnect with friends and classmates, share highlights of the intervening decades, and maybe a few lowlights too!

Here's what's planned:

Saturday, September 28, 2019

Afternoon: Tours of the new Wakefield High School (new building opened in 2013, same location but new address: 1325 S. Dinwiddie St., Arlington)

4 to 6 pm: Happy hour at Freddie's Beach Bar & Restaurant on S. 23rdSt., Arlington (classmate Freddie Lutz's restaurant)

Sunday September 29, 2019

Brunch, lunch or other gatherings? Plan a small group get-together with classmates from an athletic team, student government, music or dance group, service club, theater production, or other Wakefield activity (tables can be reserved at Federico Ristorante Italiano, Freddie Lutz's newest restaurant) [to be organized by volunteers - contact Jeanie and Marilyn for help connecting with members of your group]

7 to 11 pm: Official reunion dinner at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, including dinner, dancing, and music provided by fellow alums!


Ritz Carlton Pentagon City: A block of rooms is reserved for reunion attendees for two nights, September 28 and 29, at a reduced rate of $159 per night plus tax (parking additional); other hotels are nearby

All events are no charge or pay individually at the location, except for the Sunday night dinner ($90/person, cash bar).

Registration for the official reunion dinner began last month, and dozens of classmates have signed up already! Use the attached registration form to let us know what activities you'll be attending. You do not want to miss this landmark occasion!
