1981 – Sandy Baer Kinney – (2/12/2016) - Mrs. Sandra Baer "Sandy" Kinney, 52, of Frederick, died Friday, February 12, 2016, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Jeffrey A. Kinney, who she married on May 31, 1986 in Arlington, VA.
Born April 2, 1963, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Joseph R. Baer and the late Norma Jean (Gillespie) Baer.
Sandy graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA, then received a BA Degree in Marketing from Marymount College in Arlington, VA. She was an active parishioner at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. She was employed by General Dynamics Information Technology as a contractor to the US Army Medical Materiel Development Activity "USAMMDA" under the Neurotrauma & Psychological Health Project Management Office. Previously, she worked for State Farm Insurance, A Cut Above Catering and the American Advertising Federation. Sandy's greatest joy was in raising her four children. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and father, Sandy is survived by her children, Sean J. Kinney, Daniel R. Kinney, Michael A. Kinney and Kelly R. Kinney, brothers, James R. "Randy" Baer and wife Gloria and David T. Baer and wife Karen, father-in-law, J. Peter Kinney, several brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael R. Baer, stepmother, Dorothy Baer and mother-in-law, Barbara M. Kinney.
The family will receive friends from to 5 to 8pm, on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00PM, on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Father Keith Boisvert will officiate. 1981 - Amy Kneale Tarkleson – (3/27/2016) - Amy Kneale Tarkleson, 53, played tennis on USTA National Amateur Circuit - Amy Kneale Tarkleson, 53, of West Columbia and Albany, N.Y., passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Lexington Medical Center . She was born December 1, 1962, in Newport, R.I., to Dene C. Kneale and the late James Edward Kneale.
Amy was raised in Arlington, Va., and a graduate of Wakefield High School. She attended the University of South Carolina to play tennis at the collegiate level. She led the Gamecocks to a top-10 ranking. Former competitors, teammates, and friends describe Amy with fond memories, as having an infectious smile, incredibly tough competitor and just an ‘incredibly nice person.’
She was the USTA/MATA number one-ranked player and played on the USTA National Amateur Circuit. Later, Amy was employed as a tennis professional at Tri-City Fitness in the Latham, N.Y., and other tennis clubs in the area. She enjoyed working with junior tennis in helping to achieve their dreams.
She was preceded in death by her father; Captain James Edward Kneale, USN Retired, of Arlington, Va.
Amy is survived by her mother, Dene C. Kneale of Arlington, Va.; sister, Jamie Lynn Kneale of West Columbia; niece; Amy Nicole Kneale, of Orangeburg; nephew; Christian James Kneale (Larren), and their son, Kayden James Kneale, of West Columbia; and her dog and constant companion, ‘Honey.’
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, April 1, at Thompson Funeral Home, West Columbia, SC, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the chapel with Pastor Paul Romanstein officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

1981 - Kirby A Vandegriek - (7/6/2002) - July 7, 2002 Washington Post - Biker Dies in Montgomery A former Montgomery County man died several hours after he was injured when his motorcycle collided with a Toyota near Gaithersburg, county fire and rescue officials said yesterday. Paramedics found Kirby A. Vandegriek, 39, who had recently moved to Washington County, lying next to his motorcycle at Bell Bluff and Wightman roads about 8:15 a.m. yesterday, said Lt. Oscar Garcia, a fire and rescue spokesman. Vandegriek was taken to a hospital and later transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, Garcia said. According to police, Jiayuan Ahu of Gaithersburg was driving the Toyota north on Wightman and attempted a left turn onto Bell Bluff, apparently in front of Vandegriek, who was traveling south. Vandegriek was thrown off the motorcycle before it crashed into the Toyota.

1983 - William David Vanlandingham – (11/17/2015) - From a Facebook post: It is with great sadness I share the news that we have lost another Wakefield Warrior Alumni. David Van Landing Class of 83 passed away yesterday morning in a car accident in Tampa, FL. David was a very talented singer and sang for the band Dark Star, Mannekin, Tony McAlpine Band, Erotic Liquid Culture among others. He was a friend to many. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts as this is a huge loss. From www.blabbermouth.net:Acclaimed hard rock vocalist David VanLanding was killed early Tuesday morning (November 17) in a collision with a garbage truck in Clearwater, Florida. VanLanding's good friend, Queensr˙che singer Todd La Torre, said: "I am beyond devastated to learn that one of my best friends, David VanLanding, has passed away [Tuesday] from a car accident. He was full of life, love, and laughter. He is notably known for singing with Michael Schenker, and has a lifelong professional music career, but those who knew him best know him as a loving friend, husband, and sibling. My deepest condolences to his wife and family." VanLanding had done several tours with Michael Schenker Group and had a short stint with Crimson Glory. His last run with MSG took place in 2012, a 44-day, 31-city trek that VanLanding said "turned out to be one of the most rewarding tours of my career."

1985 - Nicholas Anitole - (5/11/2010) - Nicholas George Anitole Died May 11, 2010 at home surrounded by his wife and family. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, May 13 at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home at 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria between 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Katherine''s Greek Orthodox Church, Falls Church, VA at 11 a.m., Friday, May 14. Nick was born February 3, 1967 in Washington, DC to George and Joanna Anitole. Nick is survived by his wife, Dahlia; his son, Nicholas; his father, George; his sister, Katherine Misleh; and his brother, James Anitole. Nick was the "light" of his wife, Dahlia, and all of those who knew him. His humor, compassion and kindness were extraordinary. Nick and Dahlia have a six month old son, Nicholas, who is the mirror image of his father. Nick was the heart and soul of Ponce Team 3, a baseball team he was a part of for many years. Baseball was his passion for many years. He always looked forward to the Sunday games. Nick is gone from life but never from our hearts. -

1985 - Scott M Klimek - (9/23/1997) - Scott M. Klimek, 30, of Jessup, Maryland and formerly of Sparta, died Tuesday evening at his parent’s home in Sparta. He was born in Sparta on April 4, 1967, the son of Casey and Lois (Miller) Klimek. He graduated from Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, in 1985. He was united in marriage to Laurie Huffman in Arlington on August 8, 1986. He worked for Accu-Tech Corp. as an operations manager in Jessup, Maryland. He has been suffering from Lymphoma cancer since Nov. 13, 1996. He loved to golf.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, LeRoy and Irene Janes and his paternal grandparents, Janina and Joseph Klimek. He is survived by his Wife, Laurie; one son, Joshua Scott Klimek; his pare nts-in-law, Fred and Rosemary Huffman, Alexandria, Va.; his parents, Casey and Lois Klimek, Sparta; one brother, Jeff Klimek, Sparta.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sparta, with Rev. Mark Walljasper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 1986 - Natale V Ferragut Mogensen - (4/2/2015) - NATALE VANCE MOGENSEN (Age 46) of Potomac Falls, VA, went home to heaven on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015, after a 7-month battle with liver cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Richard R. Mogensen and their children, Nicholas, Mark, Kelly, and Scott; her adoptive father Theodore R. Ferragut, mother Linda Anderson Ferragut, and father R. Ben Hogan, III; her beloved grandmother Martha Cameron; siblings Leslie Ferragut, Michael Ferragut, Brendan Hogan, Jamin Hogan, and Clare Carmody; and many other loving relatives and friends. Natale was born in Birmingham, Alabama where she was raised for the first few years of her life, after which she moved to Arlington, Virginia. She grew up in Arlington with her mother and adoptive father, graduating from Wakefield High School in 1986. She then attended Virginia Tech and graduated in 1990. She worked for the Federal Thrift Investment Board for more than a decade before getting promoted to her favorite position, a stay-at-home mom for the next 12 years, raising her 4 children. Recently, she had gone back to work for the Thrift Investment Board. She was extremely active in the Potomac Falls community, serving on the PTA’s at Algonkian Elementary School and River Bend Middle School, the board of the Countryside Waves Swim Team, and being ever-present and involved at all of her children’s countless athletic and extracurricular activities. She was a light in all of the lives that she touched. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Main Worship Center located just inside door 500 (on the left of the side of the building that faces Beaumeade) at Christian Fellowship Church, 21673 Beaumeade Circle, Ashburn, VA 20147. There will be a visitation preceding the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., also at the Main Worship Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to Worldvision in Natale’s name are appreciated.

Friends may call on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1600 N Inglewood St., Arlington, VA 22205 from 10 to 11 a.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment services will be held privately in National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. 1986 - Steven Pagach - (10/8/2011) - Steven Pagach IV, of Alexandria, VA, died on Saturday, October 8, 2011. Born March 19, 1968 in Washington, D.C., he grew up in Arlington, Virginia where he attended Wakefield High School and Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Steve found his true calling with the Alexandria Police Department. He first joined the Department as a Parking Enforcement Officer in 1995. He held that position for two years before graduating from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy in January 1998. He worked in the Patrol Division for 14 years and during that time he acquired various skills, one of which was being a member of, and trainer for, the Crisis Intervention Team. He was a multiple receiver of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce Medal of Valor Award and had several Department commendations. He is survived by his sons,, Jimmy & Alec; daughter, Kasi; his mother and stepfather, Sandra "Sandi" and James "Jim" Colantuoni of Alexandria; his father, Steven Pagach III of Alexandria, Virginia; his brother, Marty Pagach and wife, Correna; nephew, Logan and niece, Alyssa, all of Manassas, VA; and many close aunts, uncles. and cousins. In addition, Steve is survived by his many friends and "family" at the Alexandria Police Department. Interment followed funeral services conducted on Friday, October 14, at the First Baptist church of Alexandria. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the United States Senate Federal Credit Union, c/o of Patricia Minniefield, where a college fund has been established for the benefit of Steve's three children. 1988 - Richard K Habib - (10/3/2015) - Richard Kenneth Habib, age 44, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Prince William Hospital. He was born on December 7, 1970 in Lewes, Delaware the son of the late Meesim Elias Habib and Mary Ann (Savage) Habib. He was the Regional Operations Director of the East Coast for TLC Laser Eye Center for the past 14 years and previously worked 6 years for Whitten Laser Eye. He served in the US Army for 6 years whom deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm a Gulf War Veteran. Without a doubt his life was soccer. He mentored and coached for 17 years and 14 of those years were with NVSC. He loved all of his Bulldogs and the many great memories they had together. As a referee he mentored young referees and would always tell the referees to “Coah’em up”. Richard was an amazing husband and loving father. He loved spending time with his children and sending them on wild scavenger hunts. His smile and laughter was infectious. He was selfless, caring, and giving man who touched many hearts. We are blessed to have had him in our lives. Memories of him will live on forever in the hearts of us all. Survivors include his loving wife, Penny Marie (Alexander) Habib; five children, Alexandra Marie, Rachel Katharine, Richard Kenneth, Jr., Charles Alexander Savage and Samantha Grace all of Manassas, Virginia; mother, Mary Ann Habib of Arlington, Virginia; brother, Robert Habib (Teresa O’Donnell Habib) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Father & Mother-in-law, Robert W. and Jacqulyn F. Alexander of Centreville, Virginia. And many loving family members. Pallbearers; Robert Habib, Carl Holman, Will Gazes, John Alexander, John Fitzgerald, Richard K. Habib, Jr., Jeff Loague, Andra Beasley, Johnathan Wooden, Todd Jameson, Brian Roberson, Stephen Hull, Daniel Strasburg, Jeff Mooney, Nick Oettinger, Brian Snyder, Gary Casallas, Gregg Canella, Todd Metheny, Cesar Enrquez; Honorary Pallbearers, Robert Alexander, Rodolfo Somoyoa, Ken Savage, Joseph Rogers, Matt Oettinger, Robert Mooney, Joseph Smutz The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 13th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 14th starting at 10:00 am located at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, Virginia. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
